Charis Morgan
Charis Morgan is a graduate of the MFA creative writing program at the University of Alabama, where she taught freshman composition and was an assistant poetry editor for the Black Warrior Review. She is originally from Rome, Georgia, where she attended Berry College. She is currently working on a documentary project of prose and poetry centered on eighteenth and nineteenth women institutionalized in mental asylums. Her project addresses issues of women’s mental health, bias within the medical industry, and gender roles. Her work has appeared in the Florida Review, Grain, Cincinnati Review miCRo series, Phi Kappa Phi Forum, and elsewhere. Find her on Instagram @charisjmorgan.
